Helping Hands

A Scholarship With A Purpose

Born on March 9th, 1984 in Greensboro, NC, Brandon Dwight Blue (known affectionately among family and friends as “Blue”) made an immediate impact on everyone that crossed his path. Brandon was most known for being fun, loving, and caring. There was not much that Brandon wouldn't do for others, even if that meant going without himself. Brandon was very well known and embraced in the community for his humorous behavior and large appetite. Brandon had a constant desire to keep those around him smiling, regardless of what was going on in their lives or his own.

In the late 1990’s,
Brandon became a student at the illustrious James B. Dudley High School. It was there that Brandon continued to encourage his peers to pursue high academic standards and to pursue their dreams. During this time is when Brandon was able to cultivate relationships with others that would impact their lives forever.

In the community,
Brandon was a member of the Youth Department at Fruit of the Spirit Ministries where he and his family attended.  He was a member of both the youth choir and the youth usher board, where he served countless others. At his church Brandon carried the reputation of being a compassionate member who cared about the well-being of others.  Brandon was an employee of a local catering company where he was able to serve countless others with his infectious smile. His genuine love for people drove his unwavering determination to continue to inspire others to never give up on the pursuit of their dreams.

With
Brandon’s untimely death in 2003, his family and friends bonded closer together. It was through this bond that Brandon’s family and friends chose to continue to inspire and help others, as Brandon would have done himself. With the establishment of The Brandon Dwight Blue Memorial Scholarship, Brandon’s family and friends desire to give aspiring college students additional support.
